CURVES. Evoking a sense of play - round forms are joyful, magnetic, and utterly approachable shapes. The phenomenon behind circular forms inducing joy is explored in @ingridfetell book Joyful. She states, "though the feeling of joy is mysterious and ephemeral, we can access it through tangible, physical attributes." Que the round, playful forms to fill spaces with movement and joy.

TRAVERTINE. We have a deep appreciation for the versatility and warmth of travertine. Inspired by the client's travels to Puglia, Italy #and1910 was an exploration into layering and highlighting this timeless material.

INTRODUCTIONS. Acting as a threshold between the exterior and interior of the home, the foyer is a glimpse into the design and style of the interior spaces to come. Foyers can be compact or grand, filled with thoughtful storage or beautifully curated artwork, but most importantly, they are spaces of welcome - a visual and physical respite from the outside world.

UNEXPECTED. We’re always trying to toe the line between sophisticated and playful design. These ideas show up in the work through unexpected materials, layouts, and detailing.
photo 1: Norwegian Rose marble wraps the countertop, wall, and floor, bringing warmth and visual interest to the bathroom of #and1706. Simple white tiles provide texture and balance to the space.
photo 2: Reflecting the natural setting, tiled green walls, wood ceilings, and soft linen curtains work to create a serene indoor sanctuary.
photo 3: Checkerboard floors play with peach, pitched ceilings. Wood cabinetry and white tiled walls keep things in check.
photo 4: Layering a retro and contemporary feel, we had a lot of fun playing with tile.
photo 5: Travertine, oak, and a private hidden garden are elements used to create and differentiate this space.

COLOR AND VIBRANCY. In the living room of #and1910, we brought color and vibrancy with blush mohair on curvilinear @scpltd sofas designed by @philippemalouin. Texture and warmth provided by a creamy rug and circular coffee tables to compliment the custom travertine mantle piece and pitched ceiling.
